In April, 2011 …

“Now, therefore, I, Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, under the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Texas, do hereby proclaim the three-day period from Friday, April 22, 2011, to Sunday, April 24, 2011, as Days of Prayer for Rain in the State of Texas.”

So, how are things going since Rick Perry summoned the hand of god to the plight of Texas.

Then the governor prayed, publicly and often.  Alas, a rainless spring was followed by a rainless summer. July was the hottest month in recorded Texas history. Day after pitiless day, from Amarillo to Laredo, from Toadsuck to Twitty, folks  were greeted by a hot, white bowl overhead, triple-digit temperatures, and a slow death on the land.

In the four months since Perry’s request for divine intervention, his state has taken a dramatic turn for the worse.  Nearly all of Texas  is now in “extreme or exceptional” drought, as classified by federal meteorologists, the worst in Texas history.

Lakes have disappeared. Creeks are phantoms, the caked bottoms littered with rotting, dead fish.  Farmers cannot coax a kernel of grain from ground that looks like the skin of an aging elephant.

This bozo believes in prayer … he held a prayer rally recently when 30,000 fellow believers came together to prayer.  Perry believes America’s problem can be solved by prayer. Jesus is his answer. Perry also believes in dismantling the EPA and doesn’t believe in climate change.  He believes in big Oil and that corporations are people. On balance, whatever he believes is just plain wrong.

He was a poor student in school — with marks of C and below and rarely above.

He doesn’t understand rational thought — the definition of insanity.

There is no god — it is just something people invented — like Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.  People who claim to hear god — and many do — are mentally ill with active psychosis.  How much nonsense and how many prayer need to be uttered before rational people conclude he is freedom fries short of a Happy Meal?

Why even bother with this bozo?

Perry is going to be the next President of the United States. 

You don’t have to look very far to see when somebody like this can be President — even be taken serious for a moment … America is Doomed

For all the talk about how efficient capitalism is at allocated resources, it must be observed that America capitalism is a horrible waste of people.  Capitalism does not result in high people utilization at all.  Intelligent people go unemployed, work at jobs which require the skills of an eight year old, do something they hate poorly, and are denied the ability to do something they love because it doesn’t pay anything.

Jobs are simply about money and supporting oneself.  People will largely do anything, even illegal things, to pay the bills and support their families.  Capitalism loves this sort of desperation.  They love it when people have no other choices than to work at McDonalds or a million other despicable places just to avoid starving to death.

Decades ago, education was valued.  Having a college degree meant that one would be able to find a good job, even one they liked, and be able to raise a family.  This is no longer the case.  An entire generation is being lost.  Piles of debt are putting the next generation in such a debt hole that they will destined to a horrible life.  Their wages start low and will not go up — they will eventually be discarded.  Many of them will realize that the so-called opportunity in America is not available any more.

So, how does America react to their colossal waste of people and intelligence?  They do absolutely nothing.  They embrace for-profit colleges whose entire purpose is to debt-up their students with promises of careers that will never happen.  It is a great sham and being paid by the government. Most of the students will never finish their programs, just as the programs’ creators hope.  But, they will sign up for mountains of debt and never receive any income at all.  It’s a great country where the sham is sanctioned by the government for the benefit of a few, at the expense of the masses.

But, as bad as this is — the worse part is the waste of people and abilities that could be used to solve critical issues and problems.  Things which America desperately needs to be solved — the survival of the country is at stake.

Wasting people is another sign of an imploding country.

Today, Obama states that we all have a right to be frustrated.

I will never vote for this bozo again.

He betrayed everybody who voted for him — he betrayed me.

Fine. He got to play President — it is now time to fast track his impeachment.

One issue after another Obama caved — health care, fake financial reform, Bush tax cuts, closing Gitmo, immigration, etc. etc.  The list is shockingly long. Obama was even willing to gut Social Security and Medicare in his asinine view of compromise — give up everything so that the other side gives up nothing.

Not only did Obama betray everybody who voted for him, he didn’t even have the decency to speak out in favor of issues like single payer healthcare that the people who elected him OVERWHELMING wanted.  I am sure we will hear lots of this bullshit from him in the upcoming election, but I am not buying any of it.  Because, we all know that in the end Obama will betray the people who vote for him.

But yes, I am frustrated there Obama doesn’t resign or the Congress doesn’t impeached him.   He should impeached by the Democrats and there will be plenty of support among Republicans to get rid of this despicable human being.  And if Biden isn’t any better, impeach him too. Impeachment is the only method we have to remove a President so let’s use it to get rid of this bozo.

If Clinton can be impeached over a oval office blow job, then Obama can be impeached for betraying the people who voted for him.

There is only one thing Obama could do to make me change my mind even a little about him — “I am resigning today because I fucked up badly and want to give the people I voted for a better choice in the upcoming election.”  LBJ said something like this when he did not run for re-election.

People ask me who I will vote for?   It won’t be for a Republican — they are bat shit insane as Bill Maher would say — Bachmann and Perry are the perhaps the craziest bastards to ever run for President.  Fucking religious people start crazy and end up crazier.  I will probably vote for somebody with no chance of winning but in America that is the only choice you have in this fucked up two party system country. My guess is some bat shit Republican will win. The next time somebody says how great the Founding Fathers were, I am going to puke.  I would much rather have a parliamentary system where governments have to hold elections when they are discredited and coalitions are required to form governments.  And make no mistake — Obama’s Presidency has been discredited by both sides.

Up and down 500 points at a time.

Today, margin requirements were increased for Gold to just 22% and it went down.  Why just 22%?  Because the exchanges think this will cover them when gold collapses.  It may or may not. But this is clear, the lower the margin requirement the more the speculation.  If they were to increase the margin to 100%, gold would drop by more than half.

The entire gold and silver nonsense is nothing more than that.

These are just rare metals … they are only worth what people want to pay for them … it is the greater fool theory and you just hope you are not the greatest fool.

Better than paper currency, perhaps, because gold is not as easily created.  But there are other things which could be used … even metals more rare than gold. Maybe somebody will ring the bell and declare palladium the metal du jour.  How about molybdenum? Or even just copper? Or diamonds? Again, the only thing that makes gold special is a bunch of idiots who think gold is important.  It could easily change because ultimately, what is gold truly worth?  You can’t eat it but you might be able to get some dental work done but not at $1800 an oz.

In the past gold derived its value because of the demand for it, maybe jewelry.  But I doubt if there is much demand for $1800 an oz necklaces. It might be pretty but not that pretty.

Today, gold is nothing more than tulips and it will bust, just like all bubbles bust — just like gold has busted in the past.

But for gold to even be a protection against apocalypse at all, it must be physically held.  Then there is the problem of subdividing it and keeping it safe.  Melting it down on the oven? Guns perhaps?  Make sure you have the biggest guns and lots of trusted people.  Don’t assume an apocalypse and also assume you will be safe.  Or safety can be bought because you probably don’t have nearly enough gold for that — much easier for you to lose it all to somebody with bigger guns.

This is the gambling palor of Wall St.

There is nothing rational about any of this.

This is just gambling or the more socially acceptable world: speculation.

The word I prefer is GREED.

Because America doesn’t make much any more but speculation can occur based on nothing … speculate on the price of oil or cotton or even the weather.  Nothing has to be real, it is all the nonsense of today’s markets.  Call it capitalism, if you must — it is far closer to insanity than anything else.  Because people’s lives are wrecked directly or indirectly as greed abounds.

Things don’t really change this much in a single day.

And they certainly don’t change this much day after day.

But we have a Federal Reserve that has interest rates at zero and there are banks with lots of computers that are trading at the sub-second level … thousands of trades per second.  Matched to other computers at other big banks with piles of money trading at the same fierce rate.

This is the reality of the farce that is Wall St.

Wall St is no more about raising capital … it is about making something out of nothing which results in nothing.

It makes me sick to read articles how the unemployment claims are down and this means things are getting better.

NO, THINGS ARE NOT GETTING BETTER .. NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT.

First time unemployment claims might have dipped below 400,000 after being above 400,000 for months.  Frankly, the number of people who filed for first time claims is such a stupid measure.  The only thing that matters is how many people are unemployed — not how many new people are unemployed.  Plus, these numbers are seasonally adjusted which means they are fake numbers in the first place.  But, this morning there are dozens of articles that say the stock market is up a little because employment is getting better.

Think of it this way.  When there are no more people employed, this number will be zero and the headline will say — Things are great because no new people are unemployed.  But it will be an unemployed person who has to write this.

No wonder this country will never come to terms with its unemployment.  There is so much misleading stuff related to employment.  As mentioned so many times, the monthly unemployment numbers are vastly misleading — misleading to the point of not being relevant but they are reported and quoted all the time.  As if 9.1% unemployment means something at all.  It doesn’t mean anything and it is so underestimated that it is simply a lie.  Unemployment is at least 25% and if you only count people with a living wage jobs it is more like 50%.   But the person who has three part time jobs to try and make a living, will be counted over and over again by the employment statistics.  But, most people in the real world realize he is not three people and he would prefer to have a single living wage job.

For years, the number of people EMPLOYED has been on the decline.  This is more easily seen if you only count FULL TIME employment and even better if you only count FULL TIME employment where people are making at least a living wage.  But these numbers are very hard to come by because they can be understood without ambiguity.  The government, politicians and Wall St does not want people to know the real situation because if they ever did capitalism would be over.  So, ambiguity is exactly what the government and Wall St want.  They don’t want America to know that this is a DEPRESSION and the DEPRESSION is getting worse and will continue to get worse.

JOBS are being eliminated.  They are being sent to cheap labor markets.  They are being replaced by technology.  Jobs are paying less and less.  And if you make too much, you will be replaced. If you have a job don’t feel so smug because this DEPRESSION will get around to you in due course.
