Reconciliation — The Only Option in the Senate

Republicans continue to paint Reconciliation as some type of drastic tactic — they even INCORRECTLY refer to it as the ‘nuclear option’  which it isn’t.  The nuclear option in the Senate is eliminating the filibuster at the beginning of a session of Congress.

The chart below shows that it is Republicans that repeatedly use Reconciliation to pass bills, frequently in a partisan vote split.   No shock here that Republicans are LYING THEIR ASSES off again.  There is only ONE case when Reconciliation measure was passed by Democrats without significant Republican support.  However, there are 7 cases when Republicans passed Reconciliation measures with virtually no Democratic support, including both Bush Tax cuts.

Everything should be passed as a Reconciliation Measure.  Even stuff that the Senate Parliamentarian disapproves of can be overridden by the President of the Senate, Biden, and an appeal only requires 51 votes in the Senate.  Load up the boat and pass everything this way.  Maybe this will lead to the repeal of the 60 vote Filibuster rule and restore majority rule for the Senate.

America Loves Nuclear Weapons — Never Enough Nukes

There are few things that America loves more than its nuclear weapons — the US will spend however much money is needed.  It will pursue every possible avenue for delivery of nukes.   It will go to great lengths to prevent other countries from getting nuclear weapons even though the America is the only country which has ever USED such weapons about other people.

There is no money for health care and even national debates about who should be entitled to health care.  And, I hear every day that America just can’t afford health care for all of its citizens — but you never hear the same thing about nuclear weapons from those people.  America is an aggressive country that loves imperialism and wars — mostly to satisfy the capitalism monster within — open markets, acquire national resources, cheap labor markets, etc.

To say America is hypocritical is a gross understatement.  To think that America will scale back their development, production, or use of nuclear weapon is naive. Yet, America will spend $BILLIONS to prevent others from acquiring such weapons even though it is the only sensible thing other countries can do — you can’t trust America — it’s a fact.  Other countries would be stupid to not pursue the development and testing of their own nuclear weapons, just to protect themselves against America.

America will be the next country where a nuclear weapon will be deployed — probably more than one at a time and probably within a decade.  I wouldn’t even be surprised if it is done by other Americas since the number of crazies in America is increasing at an alarming rate.   Even Republicans who don’t want to spend any money on anything, love their nukes.  It is what bullies do.

Unemployed Dispair — Blame it on Productivity and the Machines Eliminating Jobs

Even though the government statistics attempt to confuse the state of employment with their overly optimistic headline reports, it is clear there are more and more long term unemployed.  These are people that will not be able to get another living-wage job ever.  In addition, the number of underemployed people is increasing.  There is no solution to this because the reason for the unemployment will not go away this time.  Things are different now, because less people are needed to work than in the past — you can thank technology and a virtually infinite job pool.

At this very moment virtually EVERY company — big or small — in America is trying to figure out how to employ less people, utilize technology, and produce more.  I am amused when super dope, CNBC’s Larry Kudlow talks about productivity figures and how they are increasing.  This is actually NOT a good thing but stupid Kudlow preaches it like it is.  The reason it isn’t good is because it illustrates exactly the reason the unemployed will continue to increase.    Basically, productivity is a ratio of what is produced divided by the amount of people needed to produce it.  Each time a person is replaced with a machine, productivity increases.    In the extreme if all people could be eliminated, productivity would approach infinity — you get the point.

An even more interesting statistic would be American productivity — meaning the ratio of goods produced divided by people employed in America.  This statistic is rising even faster because of all the outsourcing to low wage markets.  By replacing workers with technology or lower paid works, the cost of products decreases and PROFITS — the holy grail of capitalists — increases.   But even the vocabulary is deceiving since most people would think increased productivity is good.  It is only good for a few and bad for everybody else.  It is the reason the unemployed ranks will increase as Kudlow extols the great increases in productivity.

In practical terms, if you are part of a company where productivity is increasing, you have an increased chance of elimination.

Medical Insurers Walking Away From Customers — More People Will Learn Just How Broke the System Is

I know so many people who think they are ok with their medical insurance.  I have tried to explain to them how they are wrong with little success.  I just finished reading this article which explains how medical insurance companies are willing to reprice their products and walk away from customers.  Employers will just not be able to afford to offer health insurance and people will not be able to afford it.

As I have explain before there is no keeping the present system even though I hear this refrain constantly from people.  They think it will continue to work — they think it is working.  They are not only wrong — they are dead wrong.

Consider that in the midst of a national health care debt, insurance companies announced 20-60% increases on health insurance.  Are they stupid to say this in the midst of the debate?  Of course they are.  It is red meat for the people who want to reform the system.  But it doesn’t matter because the increases are part of the system and will get much worse, year by year.  14,000 people a day are losing coverage and this will continue and get worse.  More and more will drop coverage because they simply can’t afford it.

To say health care is broken in this country is simplistic compared to the actual reality.   Meanwhile, Republicans are committed to killing even superficial reform — reform that only deals with a few items around the edges and will be years before it is fully implemented.   The only solution is to completely eliminate all profit from the system and enact a single payer system that controls cost.   This is not nationalizing doctors, hospitals and providers — this is just nationalizing health insurance.  It is the ONLY solution — MEDICARE FOR ALL — period!

But America won’t do the right thing — they will keep arguing and people will keep losing coverage and complaining about the costs.   For all the people who will lose their health insurance today, this month, this year — you are screwed — and if you get sick you will likely be financially ruined.   I will care because I have seen this day coming for a long time.  Republicans won’t.  Many Democrats won’t as well — some are so busy with this fetish about abortion to care about the real living people who are suffering.

Even if some health care reform passes, I won’t be celebrating.  It is a crummy non-solution and will just make it harder to implement the real solution.  Republicans will lie and say if only the present system was left along — many will believe the lie, just as they believe all the other lies of the right-wingers.

Today, I am sad about America — I am sad to see it fail, yet again.  I am sad to see the rich win and capitalism screw everybody over, again.

However, BILL CLINTON supports LINCOLN and so does OBAMA.  No wonder the DEMOCRATS are so utterly fucked up.  OBAMA supports a person who DOESN’T SUPPORT the policies of the Democratic Party and Lincoln is proud of this fact …

College Protests — Reject College and Enjoy Your Life

College is pointless for this GENERATION — America is imploding and what good will a degree do?  Learning is important but NOBODY needs college for learning — learn what is important to you.  College simply certifies the learning in order to making hiring by EMPLOYERS easier.   But look at the cost — not just in money — but the stress of learning what somebody else wants you to learn — even if you HATE it.  Plus, EMPLOYERS can’t be trusted — they will discard even the best educated and most loyal for MONEY.  If you want MONEY — you are better off without COLLEGE — start a business — the people with the most money, just learned to STEAL IT.  If this is what you want — you can DO the same — but be warned, it won’t make you HAPPY.

The smartest college kids will see through the nonsense and just QUIT.  No more debt.  No more school.  Instead, just enjoy life — doing what you want.  Be free and don’t be sucked into the roller coaster of the so-called American Dream which, of course, is hardly a dream.  Ask you parents.  Ask older people you respect.  But don’t let them give you a pat answer — press them — get them to admit that they wasted their life pursuing the nonsense of America.  Eventually, they will admit that if they could do it over again they wouldn’t go to college and wouldn’t have children.  They would have just enjoyed life, even if it meant a shorter life — at least they would have enjoyed it.  Travel the world.  Have sex. Surf. Write. Read. Love. Be Happy because there is no hope for America.

What IS the point of working hard, preparing yourself, slaving at a job, and getting laid off when a younger crop of people comes along.  Reject it ALL now.  Do something YOU love — something that will make your HAPPY.  Reject the treadmill.

Remember that 50% of the graduates from top schools go into FINANCE — an occupation that does nothing more than move numbers around on spreadsheets causing pain and suffering for many.   What must it be like to spend your life in pursuit of bigger numbers of spreadsheets — what is the point?  You still DIE with those silly numbers of the spreadsheets –  your body still gets COLD as it is destroyed.

Don’t get sucked in by Religion — another worthless endeavor with no point.  Don’t let ANYBODY tell you want to do — not even this.  DO WHATEVER YOU WANT.  Don’t worry about other people’s rules because these people are UNHAPPY and not content — they have wasted their lives doing the boring, instead of the EXCITING.  Do the EXCITING — no matter if there is any money at all.  Music. Paint. Loving.  Whatever you want.

There is NO saving America.  If the student loans won’t do you under, then the financial crisis will, or global warming will … or the pollution of the food, air and water will … or just the general corruption of a corporate system too greedy and a government that doesn’t work.    Stop it all NOW.  Enjoy your life — enjoy each day doing what you REALLY want — DON’T WASTE YOUR LIFE on the nonsense which is America.

Credit Card Blacklist — $99 Solution — Evil Capitalism

Are you on a credit card blacklist?  You might be but — no fear — $99 and you can be removed.  Leave it to CAPITALISTS to create a problem with a $99 solution …  I would say bring on their fucking blacklist … I want to know any merchant that subscribes to this so that I will never have to deal with them again.

Of course, there is no DUE PROCESS … what the hell does that mean to a CAPITALIST anyway?  The only law is money and the more money you have the more law you make.

Will Congress intervene and disallow merchants from blacklisting people?  Of course, not.  That would be socialism or communism — CAPITALISTS don’t really know the difference.  But anything that prevents the pure greed mantra has to be bad.
