Poverty in America

On September 19, 2010, in doomed, by admin

Poverty keeps increasing as economists call this a recession, super recession, or double dip. Nonsense to all this talk. This is a depression but the 44 million in poverty have known that for a long while. Jobs are fewer and harder to find. If you want a job, with poverty wages, move to India. Sound funny? Tell the IBM employees who are being told this is their only choice.

The Apple stores are jammed with the employed and affluent, but many other businesses are closing even in previously affluent areas. House prices are tumbling and the era of the McMansion are over. It is now smaller condos and apartments and the rents are plunging as well. Many are moving in with parents, relatives, and friends. Other have three part time jobs and still not enough money to pay for essentials. Some just give in to tent cities. Families are suffering but Republicans keep clamoring the employed are just lazy.

Republicans have no empathy and the Tea Party people think they are going to get the Founders’ religions while keeping Social Security and Medicare. The seniors I know who are strong Tea Baggers have little realization that they beliefs will make them part of the ever growing poverty class. But, at least they will get rid of the black President and get a Palin. Wow. Will they be shocked what the idiot from Alaska could do.

America is Doomed.

The largest contributors to the Tea Party are these huge capitalistic billionares and corporations. These few (or more) want less government, less regulations ( financial ) less for the average joe and these folks want more, more, and more greed. Looks like the american people have been believers of these shenanigans. Seems to me whenever the economy is tanked the american folk hires the democrats to get the U.S. out of the shit tank.If unemployment was only 5% I wouldn’t even be typeing this.

Good point … the Tea Party is certainly financed by the wealthy … however, the people voting for these fools are poor, ignorant people — mostly seniors

The Wall Street crooks must be laughing their asses off at these saps. Most of the elderly don’t even know how to use e-mail…they will be *first in line* to be looted into oblivion by corporate predators once their idiot Tea Party policies are passed.

At least everyone on this board sees it. But we don’t count. All of us taken together don’t amount to a ripple in a piss pond. A tsunami is approaching. The perfect storm, if you will.

I will have nothing to do with any of it anymore, other than possibly casting a few votes (for the last time in my life) in an effort to create more chaos. This situration is unsalvageable. We’ve been through 12 years where one party basically controlled Da Gubsamunts, and just look at us. First the Repukes, then the DumbaKraps. Did anything improve?

The jig is up. Old people, ignorant people, tax haters, religious nuts. Call them what you like but they are about to rule the day. I didn’t say I approve, I just said it is coming faster than a whirlwind.

CYA. Take care of yourself and your loved ones, and a few friends. Then you (and they) will survive. Pray to Gosh and Golly for a direct asteroid hit.
