Canada confiscates a large portion of peoples’ money to pay for their single payer system of healthcare. Therefore, the people don’t have as much slush money circulating with which to speculate. Houseing prices in Canada never rose in real terms to the absurd levels that they did in the US. “Flippers” weren’t doubling their investments in under one year.
Also, Canada only has something like 36 million people. New Yawk state has 26 million. That should tell you alot.
Canada is a vast, resource rich country, and an export country. Wheat, Canola, oil, coal, oilshale alternatives, iron ore, gold, silver, and on and on. Also fish, lobsters, king crab, snow crab, timber. And Canada has a manufacturing base. They make shit and export it, not import it. They are a bit like a North AmeriKan China.
Canada has a small debt that is under control. Canada can pay it’s bills. Canada doesn’t have states (provinces) that are shutting down because they are broke. Canada doesn’t have cities like East St. Louis and Detroilet that are being bull dozed into oblivion. (http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/illinois/article_dfb23oc2-9bf3-11df-9731-0017a78c22.html) hope that one opens. Maybe this one will.(http://wwwtopix.net/forum/source/fox2now/TM3KRJEBBVB9PU558).
If housing prices fall in Canada, it is not the end of the world. They are a nearly self sufficient country and don’t have alot of mouths to feed. They have no AmeriKan style ghettos (I’ve been there alot), no large populations of foreign invaders, very low crime as comared to the US, a population who has access to healthcare, minimum livable wages, paid vacations of 6 weeks for all workers, and more to boot.
Like I said, I didn’t crunch specific numbers but I don’t think that I have to. If their housing sector takes a lump, they don’t have to fire all of their police nor their firemen. They have assets and resources that haven’t been mortgaged to the hilt. They can employ them and manage their problem.
Like I said before. My little sister lives in upper Ontario about 6 months of the year and if it didn’t snow, she would live there year round. Look at the overall picture, not just a few housing numbers. Canada is Mecca compared to East St. Loseus, Killadelphia, ‘Cleave’land, Detroilet, Shitcago.
From now on, like I refer to God as Gosh or Golly, I will now refer to Canada as Mecca.
I agree with Ductileiron on one thing. Canadians are ambivilent about their guns. They both love and hate them. If they are Torontoites or Vancouverites, they hate them. That is because of their low crime rates. If they live in the wilderness, they love them. That is because the like to eat moose.
I will now refer to all firearms in Canada as “post partum abortion aparatus”. If you live in the shithole of East St. Louis, you had best hope that you own a few and have lots of bullets to feed them with. At a point, Admin will need to heavily arm himself. But it will be too late.
AmeriKa is fucked.
]]>I don’t know what planet you live on, but no Canada has experienced a bubble of their own that is now rapidly deflating. Prices in Vancouver,Calgary etc have dumped over -30%. Canada is simply in the earlier stages of their bubble collapsing, while America is a little further along.
As far as China, the rabid inflation there has been due to state intervention, and its set to explode as well; and when it does it will be hellaciously nasty. Want proof-check out Tsinghua University’s fundamentals analysis, and take note of the parallels to the US metrics prior to our collapse. Can you spell-UNSUSTAINABLE?
With regard to the rest of the world (ROW) doing well because of real estate inflation, you are misinformed. Look at the Eurozone, they had worse bubbles than we did in many countries and are now paying the price. Want proof-go look up global housing bubble inflation stats and then go check the various country specific sites that track housing to see the downward trending from the peak.Whoops you would be wrong again…
I am going to guess Sr that you are not college educated, and certainly dont have an MBA or any background in finance and economics. Point being, anything that goes up so much faster than real income will always fall back inline as is happening in the western nations. China may be a slightly different matter as to precisely how the prices escalated so radically, but the end result will be the same, as the metrics are all flashing red for PRICE DEFLATION.
]]>And yes, the Sheeple in AmerfreaKa do fear their Gubsamunts, and with good reason. Just not enough of them yet. Too many are still enfatuated with Jerry Springer reruns and the massive dimensions of Kim K’s Glutes. Maybe it’s all of the artificial sweeteners, colorings, flavorings, and preservatives that they consume in their daily doses of canned death, like Croaka Cola.
]]>I have traveled the world extensively and when I’m on a train in say, Peru, I quickly make friends with Canadians. Not only do I like them, but I know I won’t be a target of terrorists because the locals mistake me for a Cannuck, eh?
My little sister owns a wonderful house 8 hours north of Sudbury, Ontario. It is only accesible by train (twice/week in summer, once in the winter) and about an additional 10 mile snowmobile ride. No electricity, wood heated sauna, trout creeks everywhere, diversity (some Frenchies from Quebec also live down the road), kerosene lamps, no bugs, NICE!!
They bought the entire property with several acres for $35,000 when the same remote property in Montaimya or Why?oming would have cost millions. No housing bubble up there. Just real value. Banks won’t lend money to buy hyperinflated, speculative shit.
sr: We have tolerated absurd real estate inflation in the AmerfreaKa and now we are paying the piper. Son, You know not of what you speak!!
When I meet Canadians, here, there, or everywhere, they always ask me why we tolerate the horrible conditions of poverty in America. I tell them that AmeriKa thrives from poverty. Half of our economy is based on “poverty service”. We hand out food stamps that are quickly converted into gambling chips, Ho’s, Lottery tickets, drugs, and alcohol. Very depressing place, AmerfreaKa is.
They always say that the problem is easily correctible. I agree, but inform them that the system was designed that way. The Amerfreakan Gubsamunts doesn’t want it corrected. Even if any of it actually gets spent on food, it will cause Diabetes, Obesity, Alzheimers, etc… and that is what makes the wheels of commerce hum.
All of the criminals, infirm people, bankrupt States, casinos in Lost Vaugeness, Injun reservations, etc.. depend on depravity and illness. Kraft Food, Nonsanto, Pfizer, Big Insurance, etc.. depend on poverty to generate higher rates of illness for the only sector of our economy that will employ people. The disease industry is the new AmerFreaKan industry.
I talked, down here JoJa way, to a retired Candian MD and his wife this weekend. They said that when they are in AmerFreaKa, that they alway tell people who the meet that they now live in Ottowa, Canada. AmerFreaKans alway Aksk, “where’s that”? They respond that it is the capitol of Canada. Blank stares, no mas!! I told them to ask Gubsamunt’s Hi! Skrool Edjgeemakated AmerFreakans if they know the capitol of the United States and can they locate it on a map. You fill in that blank!!!!
The only problem that I have with Canada is the weather. I simply can’t stand the cold. I’m a tropical or subtropical person. If Canada were in Rio or Caracas, I wouldn’t be here typing this rant.
AmerFreaKa is unsalvagable. Make your escape plans now, before Martial Law.
