People who think that jobs are coming back without drastic, unprecedented actions are wrong. This is obviously not to say that every person will be unemployed in America. Rather, it means that there will be massive unemployment, increasing over time, until Congress implements radical legislation or America collapses. The legislation will have to prevent companies from outsourcing work, impose significant tariffs on imports, limit the amount of time people are allowed to work, eliminate international trade agreements, and commitment to providing a guaranteed living wage and/or job for every citizen.
However, the bad news is America is going in the opposite direction of what needs to be done. There are many reasons for this.
- Americans still believe that this is an ordinary recession and things will improve — it is a Depression that has not been publicly recognized by the people in power.
- There is still faith in capitalism as an economic system. Yet, tools which have worked in the past, like low interest rates, are no longer working. Low interest rates are helping mega banks that can borrow for 0% but are devastating to ordinary Americans who are penalized for any savings.
- President Obama has declared many times that things are improving, when they are not, which makes him economically impotent and unable to lead. He will certainly lose re-election and be replaced with another GOP clown — probably Jeb Bush.
- Workers need aggressive collective bargaining but almost no progress is being made.
- America has a crushing and accelerating national debt.
- Corporations control the government and elections making reform impossible.
- There are still too many people who are doing ok and are not worried about the people who are not; eventually, everybody will be worried about the people who are suffering.
There is still lots of pain and lesson learning for America before there will be job growth. It could easily last another decade of pursuing policies that have failed America in the past, until they are finally abandoned. There will be more tax cuts which will not result in more employment, because the tax cuts for the last 30 years haven’t. With increasing tax cuts there will be increasing national debt and eventually this debt will climb so fast that the financial core will meltdown. The currency will collapse and the entire financial fabric will fail, almost overnight. This could happen at any time and be brought on by many different catalysts, like nuclear war, terrorism, foreign contagion, or a military coup.
Jobs are at the core of this all because in America one cannot sustain themselves without money which normally means a job. The lack of jobs will destroy consumers, capitalism, and the entire financial fabric of America. There will be one new low after another as more and more people are destroyed with no hope. There will be elections with different ideas but they will all fail because nobody will be able to build any consensus. It doesn’t matter who is elected — Republican or Democrat or anybody else. They will all fail because America is a greedy, selfish place that fails to realize that everybody will succeed or fail together.
The only solution to this mess is a completely new financial system and country. This includes default on the entire national debt, new currency, reformulation of corporations, and commitment to ordinary citizens. This would confiscate all the wealth in the country and redistribute it as living wages to ordinary citizens. However, the existing legal system will prevent these reforms because the Constitution was written and interpreted to protect the gentry. Even basic citizen protections were added as amendments. Thus, there can be no real solution because the constraints of America, in law and culture, will prevent it.
The entire US Constitution will have to be replaced with a new one but this cannot be done within the framework of the existing one. Thus, the country will have to disintegrate into regions or states as they withdraw from the federal government. This will take decades and create a series of fundamentally different countries. Perhaps there will be civil war as one faction tries to hold the union together. Perhaps, each region will just act out their own emergency measures as they establish independent countries.
America is too complicated and too incapable to solve simple problems; they have no chance at solving complicated ones that require an entirely new political and economic approach. It is the doomsday scenario that will be accompanied with violence, suffering, destruction, and massive death.
America is Doomed.

The 3rd round of home forclosures is here..This is the round where the $300,000 and up home/owners are doomed..This is because these homes are now impossible to get out from under and impossible to sell..The bleeding hasn’t stopped..
Don’t worry – the Repubs have you covered, that is, if you are already wealthy – the rest of you can go to hell.
‘On Fox News Sunday, Jon Kyl, the second highest-ranking Republican in the Senate, was quizzed about his party’s commitment to reducing the deficit. How, wondered the show’s host, Chris Wallace, can the GOP support extending the 10-year, $678bn (£445bn) tax cuts for the richest few while they continually block unemployment benefits by invoking the nefarious consequences of a growing budget deficit?
“You do need to offset the cost of increased spending, and that’s what Republicans object to,” Kyl said. “But you should never have to offset cost of a deliberate decision to reduce tax rates on Americans.” In short, he claimed budget shortfalls resulting from tax cuts don’t need to be offset, but spending provisions do.
If you thought this was a slip-up or a lone viewpoint you’d be wrong. “That’s been the majority Republican view for some time,” McConnell told Talking Points Memo’s Brian Beutler, trotting out the verifiably false claim that the 2001 Bush tax cuts didn’t decrease tax revenues. “I think what Senator Kyl was expressing was the view of virtually every Republican on that subject.” (As well as Democrat Ben Nelson.)
Ponder that for a minute. The official Republican stance is that taxes aren’t relevant to budget problems, but spending is. In this case, $35bn for the jobless (during the worst economic crisis since the great depression) is unacceptable to them because it would bust the budget, but $678bn in breaks for the wealthiest is fine.’
Excellent. In addition, Republicans are afraid and need their war machine; so, there will be no military cuts as well. What will be cut in social programs, like Social Security and Medicare. This is going to shock Seniors who have supported Republicans and the status quo for decades. They are wrong.
I totally agree. America is doomed, almost dead already. No hope for anybody, except terrorists, who will have a great time under the Liberals who have destroyed this country for the past 80 years. There is no hope at all because there are people like the admin of this board, who is right about what will happen to this country soon, but is wrong about who is doing all the damage. Most people in this country have lost the ability to think or use common sense, which is why the Liberals have been in power the majority of the past 80 years. No hope whatsoever. Admin is right. America is DOOMED. The greatest show on Earth will shut down forever.
You are right liberals did terrible things for this country…like supporting social security, the 40 hour work week, civil rights legislation, and minimum wage. lets live in that conservative paradise of the pre new deal where children as young as 8 and people as old as 80 worked 18 hours a day, 7 days a week for pennies on the hour to enrich their corporate owners. Lets see you get off your lazy behind and live such a lifestyle. Prove your adherance to conservative economic doctrine.
You do mention the past 80 years and how ‘liberals’ ruined this country. I know you are too lazy to do this(right wingers tend to be lazy and feel they are entitled to handouts as illustrated by their outrage at paying taxes for military protection, roads and police/fire services) but do a little research. Compare how private sector job creation grew during ‘liberal’ administrations versus conservative administrations. Here’s a few facts to help you along…. Private sector Job creation under Carter’ was 4 times greater than it was under Dumbya Bush. 4 years of Carter was better than 8 years of dumbya. Clinton experienced more job growth than Raygun and the two bushies combined. I guess creating an economic climate where jobs are created does ruin the country. After all this country is only great when the masses are forced into indentured servitude to our corporate masters. Raygun and dumya ranup the national deficit and bankrupted this country with their trickle down foolishness. We cannot borrow our way to prosperity as Raygun and dumbya proved. Why am I arguning this with you anyway—you should be living the conservative doctrine you love so well. Get back to work..18 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year..no time off since vacation was part of the progressive liberal doctrine.
oh btw you are right though about terrorists. The conservatives handled the biggest terrorists of the world very well..by handing them a 700 billion dollar bailout so they can continue their economic terrorism. Osama did say his goal was to destroy America’s economy right? Well the bankers and wall street executives nearly did it for him. best allies al Qaeda ever had.
Oh to help you along in your research..check out bea.gov and epi.org.. These are non partisan institues that study American economic data as it pertains to such factors as job creation, GDP, wealth, national and trade deficits and so forth. BLS.gov is a good site , also, for labor data. Do a little research before just parroting your messiahs like Ru Paul, rush dimbulb and all those other corporate shills. Think for yourself rather than be a sheep. Use facts in your arguments rather than just emotion. Then again facts will just prove you wrong
rickc, I already answered some of your questions in an older thread. Go read that first
There is a major reason why the great USA is collapsing while India and China are booming. India and China are practicing extreme capitalism while pretending to be socialistic, and the divide between the rich and the poor is massive in those countries. America on the other hand, is practicing socialism for the past several decades while claiming to be capitalistic. It is not the failure of capitalism in the USA, it is the failure of socialism in the USA. Americans across the board are too spoilt in wanting every luxury for free, and the definition of being poor in the USA is now not having the latest LED TV or an iPhone 4. Too many free loaders get free housing, free food, free healthcare, free schools, you name it. How long do you expect the system to support these free loaders. In China, if you have been reading the news lately, many workers have committed suicide and have protested against inhuman working environments, low wages etc. The poor in India live on less than a dollar per day, while the rich in India make millions of dollars every year.
Do you know that in India and China’s metros, 99% of the population cannot afford to buy even a small house, because the median home price is about a hundred times the median annual income. In the USA, if that multiple got over three, we scream “bubble” till we are blue in the face and self-destruct our own housing and economy. Liberals and “compassionate” conservatives believe that housing should be almost free for all, even if most of them never deserved it. The single biggest reason for the collapse of the US economy is the self-destruction of the housing industry. And this self-destruction was caused mainly by the liberal thought that 100% loans should be given to people with no savings or income, so they could live for free. Don’t get me wrong. I hate finance companies and their staff. They pay themselves huge bonuses for little work using tax payer money while hard working common folks like me get nothing. And they outsource many jobs to India and China, which I consider parasite nations that suck our blood and then have the chutzpah to call our beloved country evil and incompetent. I hate pure politicians in both parties. I hate most policies of the Liberals though…
rickc, you must be spending all your time watching MSNBC, Commie Central and Commie News Network. Almost every sentence of yours has been said already over the past several decades by many left-wingers. No, I do not have Fox News at all, and besides only a small percent of the media is right leaning…like I said in an earlier thread, I work long hours myself, and find most of what I earn taken away to feed many lazy folks, including convicted felons. I am seriously thinking about why I should slog, when I can join the rest of lazy folks and get my government hand out too….America is doomed for sure when the 10% of the population that actually works today is demoralized and wants to quit.
You want facts. Here is some utter Democrook hypocrisy on Iraq and WMD :

You want facts. Here are Barney Frank and Chris Dodd destroying the base of the housing sector in the USA, before they suddenly became champions of finance reform while of course excluding their favorite Fannie and Freddie. There cannot be more scum in America’s politics than Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.

rickc, like I said in one of my earlier emails, I am surprised that you are in the technology sector and still don’t understand the very basics of happened in the 1990s. Yes, Clinton was president, but Republicans controlled Congress for the most part of his presidency. However, the boom times in the 1990s had nothing to do with either political party, and the credit goes completely to the American innovators who worked hard in the 1970s and 1980s and made several things come to fruition in the 1990s. it was the greatest decade even in terms of technology innovation, with the greatest of them all, the INTERNET, becoming common place. Throw in all kinds of gadgets, electronics and the Y2K related boom, surely it was a massive boom and bubble, that of course, had to crash post Y2K. If you could think a bit while watching Commie Central, that would help.
Anyway, I am outta here forever most likely. I agree with most of the things that Admin says here…this country is DOOMED forever, because there are too many folks who feel strongly about things, but are on completely opposite sides of the spectrum. Globalization and the internet have self-destructed America, and the fault is not on the political parties, but on greedy short-sighted companies. Socialistic utopia is definitely NOT the answer, and Admin is dead wrong there, but unfortunately, many in the country wish that and will keep their favorite party in power the majority of the time. I agree with Admin that it is possible that the country breaks apart, and it may happen sooner than even he predicts.
Sir Will:
Even though you are running away I have the afternoon off so I decided to address some of your points.
First your utube videos do not address the topic at hand. I asked about labor statistics: numbers, facts data culled from years of collection and you give me negative utube videos about the demoncrats. I am no fan of the democrats since they are nothing more anymore than just corporate shills–the same as Republicans. However, your assertion that liberals ruined this country is typical right wing response. Right wingers tend to blame everyone else for their failures. They tend to take no personal responsibility for anything. I know how you right wingers hate real facts but since you are too lazy to do the research yourself here are a few links that use real data and not dogma to back up their claims:
Republicans vs Democrats on GDP growth
http://www.angrybearblog.com/2010/06/economic-growth-rates-presidents-party.html
Republicans vs Democrats on job creation
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jobs_created_during_U.S._presidential_terms
http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2009/01/09/bush-on-jobs-the-worst-track-record-on-record/
The numbers point to one simple fact: the economy grew faster and added more jobs under liberals than conservatives. Sorry but numbers don’t lie people do.
My post disappeared but its just as well. It was very long.
Here is a summary of what I said in addressing Williams points:
1. William claims the housing crisis was caused by the poor taking out loans they couldn’t afford. I guess they are not as responsible as the wealthy:
Wealthy most likely to default on mortgages:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/09/business/economy/09rich.html
http://www.theprogressiveprofessor.com/?p=11849
So sure blame it all on the poor Will..scapegoat the poor while the rich are just as guilty. The difference is while the poor don’t have the money, the rich do have the money but just feel they are entitled not to pay their debts. He also neglects to mention that most of the economic growth from 2001 to 2008 was due to the housing bubble. Without it we would have had virtually zero growth. Guess those W tax cuts really payed off big dividends.
2. William claims China practices hyper capitalism which he condemns. He fails to mention that there is no such thing. One either adheres to Socialism, capitalism, or communism. If he thinks that its wrong how China takes advantage of its workers as he suggests then
he is opposed to capitalism. Low wages, no benefits, that is true capitalism. Minimize labor costs and maximize profits. Capitalism 101. You are a socialist in denial Will. America has always been to varying degrees a socialist society. From 1980 onward, however, the trend has been to free market capitalism.
3. William points out how Chinese workers commit suicide due to poor working conditions. He fails to mention how thousands of Americans die each year due to unemployment, underemployment or poor working conditions. Need he be reminded of Massey mines? Or the oil workers killed in the BP explosion? Or the South Carolina man who starved to death after losing his job?
http://www2.counton2.com/cbd/news/state_regional/article/man_starved_to_death_after_losing_his_job/62794/
4. William’s theory about the tech boom of the 90′s is just that a theory. Where is his empirical data? Truth is it doesn’t exist . I know all about the tech boom so allow me to present some real numbers and data to disabuse his notion.
In the 1990′s, the economy added 23 million new jobs. IT related jobs(computer services) accounted from roughly 1.3 million of these jobs(see page 10 of the bls doc shown below) .
http://www.bls.gov/opub/mlr/2000/12/art1full.pdf
So if the boom was only the result of high tech where did the other 21.5 million jobs come from?
5. if William is correct about ‘liberal’ Clinton benefiting from a Republican Congress then logic states The Reagan Bubble(brought on by massive deficit spending and military buildup) was due to the liberal Democrats. While Senile Ron was president, The Democrats controlled
Congress 6 out of 8 years. So which economic boom do you give the liberals credit for Will: The Reagan or the Clinton boom?
6. On a personal note I found it appalling that Sir Will thinks he is ‘special’ since he works for a living. His claim about only 10% of Americans working smacks of absolute ignorance.Even if you accept u-6 unemployment(the broadest measure of unemployment in the country),
more than 80% of the population earns their living including me. I, however, feel no need to boost myself up by looking down on those less fortunate than me. I am no better than anyone else and Sir William sure as hell isn’t either. If he hates Americans so much, let him
join Al Qaeda. He’d fit in well with them.
As for the good life he believes the poor have, I’d invite him to spend just one night homeless as millions of Americans do. In my own small city, I see the homeless all the time rummaging through dumpsters for food and I doubt very much they have ipods, Iphones etc etc.
If Will thinks they have it so good then he should go ahead and quit his job and see where he ends up. Trust me Will the economy won’t collapse without your support. Chances are excellent that your employer will find someone younger, cheaper, more qualified and
a much harder worker than you. Mathematics suggests that with 5 unemployed for every job you are going to find out just how ‘unspecial’ you really are even if you have a PhD and 30 years of experience. McDonald’s will probably turn you down as they do 88% of applicants.
The only handout you will receive(unless you have children) will be a push into the nearest cardboard box you will get to call home. Don’t worry though, I’ll be glad to drop you off at the nearest tent city as long as its on my way to work.
I do all my research based on statistics culled from the government, and from independent non partisan think tanks. I watch comedy central maybe 4 times a year but if they are saying what I say its because they are studying data and facts too. Right wingers like to ignore the actual available data or claim its a vast left wing conspiracy but I’ll take numbers over your dogma, fantasies, and stereotypes any day.
Oh btw I should mention that I was a extreme right winger for much of my earlier life so I know exactly how their minds work.

all you idiots trying to find out who’s the best. well, there’s not a dime’s worth of difference betwween them. all you dems. wanted change, obama;s going to give it to you. but you’re not going to like it..
