For my entire life, I have heard constant references to the American Dream. For the unenlightened, the American Dream is to have a job, raise a family, and own a home. The American Dream is just nonsense and is getting more ridiculous all the time.
It is downright stupid for people to want to buy a house. Ignoring the tiny percentage of people that can pay cash for a house, the vast majority of people will need to take out a mortgage. In order to take out this loan, the person will need to have a job and income. However, no matter what the person’s situation is when he takes out the loan, this situation will change over time. For many it will change adversely. For example, the person might be laid off at his company, get too old, too expensive, get sick, have an adverse family situation, etc. There are a million things that can and do go wrong. In any case, it is very likely that this person will not be able to keep his commitments. He might try selling the home or he just might lose it.
Buying a home is a very risky financial situation for most people. There is no safety net in America. The bank will foreclose on it and you will lose it. You might end up in a rental or just be homeless — both are happening every day in America. Nobody cares. Even if the home is completely paid off, you still have to pay property taxes. In America nobody owns a home and this is easily proven — just stop paying your property taxes and you will see who owns your home.
The American Dream is a lie — not even a great lie as lies go in America.
For example, here are a few other lies in America
- Work hard and you will get ahead
- You can be anything you want to be
- America is the best place on earth
- America is a Democracy
- Truth matters in America
All lies …
There are many other lies that could be on the list. Instead, here is more accurately the situation in America.
- Money is everything — without it you are nothing.
- Having a job is necessary for the vast majority of people to have money but there is no guarantees — see 1.
- Corruption is rampant — nearly everybody is a crook — see 1.
- Capitalism encourages corruption — see 1.
- Nobody cares anything about you — except possibly a handful of family and friends.
- There is no safety net — see 1.
- The political system is extremely corrupt — see 1.
- Corporations are the most evil entities mankind has ever invented — see 1.
- Religion is used to keep people in line — see 1.
Again, this list could go on and on. The big takeaway is that there is no such thing as the American Dream. It is propaganda that the rich and powerful sell to the American people to get them to cooperative. Americans are stupid for believing the lies.
America is doomed

Again, I can’t disagree. Couldn’t have stated it better myself. I own my home. Bought an old Southern Shack (100 years old) and I slowly remodel it. Will I ever be able to recover my costs? doubt it. My property taxes increased by over 1000% this year. Georgia is so broke that they did away with the Homestead Exemption, thus throwing the “tax book” at me. I rent from the state, county, school district, etc. I have always hated real estate as an investment just for this reason. At least with gold they can never find it. Never. I can drive to Canada and sell it. I buy Canadian Maple Leafs becuase I don’t want to own wothless US Currency. Maple Leafs are valid Canadian currency and I can easily convert them into Euros, Swiss of French Francs, or whatever. And the Us Government can’t devalue another countries currency, only it’s own toilet paper. America is truely doomed, and they will find out how doomed they are in a short time.
