Pretend. Pretend. Pretend.  The stock market was down 2.5-2.8% depending upon which index one watches.  The S&P 500 continues to hang onto prices that are historically not just high — but crazy high.  So high that the stock market needs to drop by 70% to get into historical PE ranges.  Meanwhile, gold goes higher and the dollar goes lower.  Real estate in America will continue to drop even though there are a few suckers who are plunking down their hard earn credit report scores to score some over-sized loans.

Meanwhile, the Feds closed 9 banks today.  It is always great how they close the banks on Friday — as if nobody notices.  In this area there are at least 1,000 banks which should be closed.  Not to mention the “too big to fail” crowd and the obscenity of derivatives which is worse than than just over a year ago when the market melted down.   No matter — the bankers will continue to hand out gigantic bonuses and hopefully they will quickly move the money out of US dollars in order to protect the fraudulent value.  I would suggest Swiss Francs — but that is just me.

Plus, I hardly can read the news without vomiting about the disgrace of health care reform being largely run by the reptilian brain of the right.  That’s the part of the brain that is only concerned with survival — no room for empathy toward anybody else.  Most of those crazy elected Republicans look like lizards to me anyway, e.g. Mitch McConnell.   It is now clear to everybody that there is not going to be any health reform — just a thousand or more pages of regulations which will drip blood through the gaping holes in sanity.

In fact, the only thing I am bullish on in America right now is the insanity that is in control of just about every aspect of life.  The insanity that calls the present time a recovery even though there are less jobs, less tax revenues, and less of just about everything economic.  There are higher stock prices, sans today, but that is a rigged system.  I look forward to a 30% down day in the stock market.  Or — will the rigged Treasury with the Goldman Saks guys recommend that the Fed step in, again, and buy up all the stock for sale?

America is doomed.

For years, it bothered me that America was declining and on a certain path for destruction.  I would frequently reflect on better times.  I would recall the speech by President Kennedy when he declared America would land on the moon.  Years later, I was so excited when America did exactly that.   The America of my high school and college graduation was an exciting place with all sorts of wonders and opportunities.  But, that America is dead — not even just doomed — it is already dead.

Now, I am reminded that America is over.  This is no longer the land of opportunity.  This is the land of greed, excess, and lies.  It is the land where there is no actual news any more; instead, it has been replaced with media that literally distorts and intentionally lies.  For example, Fox News literally went to court and won with the exact argument that there is no law or regulation that requires it to tell the truth.  In fact, it can lie about anything it wants and there is nothing anybody can do.  And they won, but America lost.

I now hate America and I don’t say this lightly.  I really do hate this place.  It has devolved into a horrible place where people are unemployed, can’t get or afford health care, the rich-poor divide is increasing, Congress is openly corrupt, the environment has been destroyed, and the growth industries are prisons and drugs used to self-medicate.

You cannot drive down a street or walk into a store without seeing the hate and disgust people have toward one another.  People are struggling and there is no hope.  The environment is being destroyed,  and corporations continue to pollute the food, water, and air.  Meanwhile, the worse of the lot talk about family values while denying others “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

The only good news is that I am now content with America’s fall.  I know there is no picking up the pieces.  I know it is over for this once proud and productive place.  I am content with this.  I can now proudly say –

I hate America.

America Doomed has been predicting for a long time that this is not a typical recession — it is a depression but it is worse than that.  Henry Blodget reports that this downturn has lost more jobs from peak employment than any time since the Great Depression — and there is no sign of this improving any time soon.

The reason this downturn is a cataclysmic event that is not recognized at the national level — technology will prevent jobs from being recreated.  Many of the job losses will be lost forever.  Technology has finally gotten to the point of displacing more jobs, many more jobs, than it creates.  In fact, when people start new companies today that utilize technology for the workforce much more than people.  Technology works cheaper and tirelessly.  Technology can do thinks that regular people cannot do.  They don’t take vacations.  They can go for many years, nearly forever, without getting sick.  If technology gets sick there is usually new technology can be rolled in quickly.

Unfortunately, there is nobody talking about this on the national stage.  President Obama and those bozos he has running the economy only speak of the return of jobs.  You will never hear any of them talk about the fundamental changes in the economy.  They mostly say — be patient — and jobs will return.  Well, they are wrong or stupid.  I suspect even if it occurs to them, they have no idea what to do.

On the other hand, Republicans think they know what to do — cut taxes which causes people to create new jobs.  Well, those bozos are still living in the past when creating new companies required people.  Today, new companies might require a few people but nothing like the numbers in the past.  Thus, cut all the taxes you want but there will not be major job increases.

There is only one solution which will happen eventually — it is socialism.  Before you go crazy with that word, understand that socialism is not communism.  Socialism is the idea that everybody has to have minimums before anybody can have more.  As more and more  people drop below the necessary minimums, more civil unrest will develop.  This is why the health care debate is so interesting and important.

Republicans are arguing there should be no minimums in anything — even health care — in fact — they believe people should just die if they can’t afford health care.  What they fail to recognize is that the number of people in this category will continue to increase — it will eventually get to people who have jobs and even think they can pulled themselves out of despair.  If you cannot find a job — not just any job — but a living wage job — they you are doomed in today’s America.  You have no real choices.

What Democrats fail to recognize is that there has to be a totally different plan to handle the economy.  What worked in the past has already stopped working for many and its not working will increase for many others.  At some point there will be national policies of minimums — in housing, health care, food, transportation.  The government will get in the business of finding and even creating jobs for people who need them.   The government will send people back to school to educate them in areas where there are needs.  Otherwise, people will die but before they die there will be civil unrest.

There will be massive protests because of the lack of minimums.  As more and more people join the disenfranchised there will be more unrest.  Eventually, there will be out and out rebellion — people will die — many people.  In the remains there will be new national policies of guarantee minimums — socialism — because there is no other way.  Wealth will be spread around.  There will be a new currency and more like a voucher system.  There will be vouchers for food, housing, etc.  People will be required to work unless they are incapable.  For those, they will be trained, if possible.  Some will just be wards of the state.  However, everybody will receive minimums.

This is where the horrid problem America is facing — in the midst of already — comes from.  There are fundamental changes in the economy and the national bozos are acting like this is just an ordinary recession.

America is doomed.

It is certain that the health care debate and legislation will end this year in a disaster.  Sure, there will likely be a bill passed but I doubt if it will be worth much — maybe a few improvements around the edges but it will not even be close to what America needs.  It will take years to be enacted.  It won’t make things much better — just different.  Meanwhile, the same greedy bastards will continue to get richer.  More Americans will die and more will get angry.

Health care is a metaphor for what is wrong with America in so many ways.  At the most basic level is illustrates a lack of empathy toward fellow man.  Just the fact that people would seriously talk about the cost of universal health care — as if the cost has something to do with the necessity — is absurd.   Every other industrialized country provides universal health care with better outcomes and less cost — frequently only half of what America pays.  It can clearly be provided in America.  Instead, Republicans talk about the cost while doing everything possible to keep the price high, very high as they privilege the for profit health insurance companies.

Rep Alan Grayson from Florida declared, “Republican plan is don’t get sick. And if you do get sick, die quickly.”  Poor Republicans are all offended and some even calling to discipline Grayson.  Yet, Grayson did not even go far enough in his criticism.   Republicans want you dead if you cannot afford health care — they don’t care if you get sick or not.  It isn’t passive at all.  They really want you dead.  They don’t care for anybody that doesn’t think, believe, and look like them.   They package their beliefs in all sorts of ways but in the end, they are bigots of the worse kind.

The Republicans want a military coup in America.  They want people who don’t think and look like them dead.  They are the modern day version of the Ku Klux Klan.  They are fascists.  Listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, Palin, Beck, Coulter, etc. etc. — virtually every Republican in Congress — these people are Crazy with a capital C.  They are completely nuts.

So, look no further than the health care debate and the crap legislation that is being produced to see what is wrong with America.
