If people were to research their options, they would know that uhaul is not the only option. There are many other moving truck companies like Ryder and Budget that have slightly better customer service and newer trucks. For those who don't like to drive trucks, there are pods companies such as Door to Door, Big Box and PackRat that will do the driving for you. If only more people would stay away from uhaul, these types of situations would occur less often U-haul is notorious for doing things like this to many of their customers.
