I’m angry at America.

I am 57 years old, white, educated, retired, and have watched America detoriate for nearly 40 years.  During that time I have accepted the party line about the American dream, personal responsibility, virtues of capitalism, the greatest country on earth, and a country founded on Judio-Christian beliefs.   I have watched one old white guy after another become President and listened to all the good things he would do.  Yet, as I look back on America I see a very tragic story of greed, self-interests, and a lack of humanitarianism.  The vast majority of Americans don’t care about anybody but themselves.

I won’t apologize any more for being angry at my country.  America is fucked up and doomed if things don’t change pretty quickly.  As the gap between rich and poor increases, it will be corrected.

This brings me to the reason I am writing this blog.

I hope this is a good outlet for expressing my anger at America.   I doubt if anything will change based on what I say, but at least it will let me expel my anger so that I don’t have to carry it around any more.

Let’s admit that nobody likes an old angry man — well, almost nobody.  Turns out I like Lewis Black and George Carlin whose comedy is all about the old angry man.    Yet, my wife doesn’t like me to be angry and doesn’t like me to express my displeasure how Fucked Up America is.   So, I will write this blog as a release so that I don’t have to burden anybody who would rather not hear it.

Politically I am registered to vote in California as “decline to state” which means that no party accurately reflects my views.  Historically, I have been Republican which I am completely ashamed of, and even Democrat.  I currently like Obama more than McCain but am pissed off at Obama for moving to the “middle”.  The middle is where all the non-solutions live.

As a preview of what will come from by blog let me outline a list of things I hate:

• Greed, corruption, self-interest at the expense of others
• Nearly all Republicans
• Some Democrats
• Rich people who don’t care about poor people
• Heath Care and the injustice
• All religious bullshit and the people who don’t keep it to themselves
• Lying and deception
• Most politicians
• Putting people in jail who are no risk to society, e.g. most drug offenses
• Racism and any other discrimination against somebody different than you
• War
• Piety
• Student Loans
• Credit reports and credit scores
• Most laws Congress pass
• Supreme Court, particularly Scalia, Thomas, and Roberts
• Bush Administration, specifically idiot Bush, Cheney, and Condi to just name three
• Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Fox News
• Global Warming
• Oil and automobiles, drilling anywhere
• Nearly all Fortune 500 companies
• Microsoft, Exxon, any Health Insurance company

That should get me started.
